My first house?? Attempting home decor

Whenever I am out and about, I am excited to return to my sun soaked home. On the 10th of June I moved into my first house and I couldn’t be happier. My parents (aka, the best parents in the world) bought an investment property in a central Auckland suburb and I couldn’t be more grateful to them for allowing me to have such security in the ever-rising New Zealand property market. The three-bedroom house was just recently renovated in a Scandinavian style which gives it a modern and minimalistic feel.

Luckily for my student budget, most of our furniture was kindly donated from my parents, or things that we already owned. Inadvertently, we’ve gone for a steel, wood and leather look, which we love.

We just needed to pick up a few extras to tie it all together and complete our first home.

Our purchases

barstool
We scored replica Tolix barstools off Trade Me for a steal!
bathroom_mirror
Kmart’s really stepped up their game recently, this Wall Mirror with Shelf is only $35. We got one for each bathroom.
dining_room_light
The focal piece of our living and dining areas, this Columbus.46 5Lt Pendant from Lighting Plus is stunning. It reminds me of an atom, which suits my geeky brain just fine!
lamp
Twice as nice, we got two of these Camille Table Lamps from Freedom for our bedroom.

A massive 800x1200mm Frameless Chalkboard from The Chalkboard Company, for all of our (my) list-making needs!
